I, unlike all others, am not a big fan of plethora of products on my bathroom shelf.
So instead of ordering new products that I need, I tend to create them myself. Of course I do tonnes of research before putting anything on my skin.
Also some of the brands as they claim, they get certificate for purity by forging, duplicacy, forfeiting and even bribing to sell their products and make fool of consumers. So I am very picky. They can't trick me.
Last to last week, I made a body scrub especially to use on the days I feel tired and drained out of energy. I almost used up the sample quantity I made and I am making it again today. It has the following ingredients to address individual concerns:
Ingredients
-
Salt – To detoxify the body, take away the pain and relaxes
-
Turmeric – To brighten the skin, to reduce inflammation
-
Rice Powder – To polish the skin, to increase cell turn-over rate hence reduce dead cells accumulation, thus aiding in skin glow
-
Baking Soda – To gently exfoliate skin
-
Brown Sugar – Coarsely powdered brown sugar crystals to scrub off the dead cells by physical exfoliation method.
(Alternative- You can use semolina in place of sugar, but this increases the size of scrub particles, Because sugar melts on skin whereas semolina Doesn’t. Hence while using semolina in scrub, frequency should be once in 3 days and make sure you do proper mositurization right after shower)
How to apply
-
Apply on damp skin. Scrub with your hands. Let it stay for 10-15 min and wash it off in the shower. You can use mild body wash.
-
Focus on full body except face and under eyes. You should never scrub your under eye area.
-
This also doubles up as a lip scrub. Apply on damp lips and let it stay for 5-10 min. Scrub it off with your fingers. Wash your lips and moisturize with glycerine or lip balm.
-
You can also add Besan (Gram flour) to it. then you can skip body wash, because Besan acts as a natural cleanser
-
You can use it once every 2-3 days
